i dunno what led to me thinking,(i think it was cos of this speeding car heading towards me at the zebra crossing)
but something triggered thoughts of death into my mind.
i thought of what it would be like if the car had hit me, and all my brain juices and innards start flying everywhere and all that. and i thought, what an ugly way to die.
then, subsequently, i asked myself, what is a beautiful way to die?
is there a beautiful way to die?
a few options jump to mind: passing away in your sleep.. old age.. saving someone?
but then.. i feel that, there is no to die beautifully.
no matter how we leave this world, what we leave behind is an ugly, cold and lifeless body. an undignified being.
a body without dignity because what it is is but an empty vessel of whatever soul had possessed it before.
but then, another thought interrupted my mind. a sweet thought. a wonderful thought.
there is a way to die beautifully.
and the only beautiful way to die is to die a true Christian.
i see no other way. do you?
when i thought about this,i was so filled with peace.

no matter how a person dies, it will never be beautiful no matter how you look at the body left behind.
if i see a dead body, i feel pain and suffering and sadness and lingering over all that is the horrible, acrid stench of death.
but,if i know that person is a Christian,a child of Jesus, the pain, the suffering and sadness diminishes, fades, become lesser and so much easier to bear. in its place i feel calm, love and sometimes even a little envy.the death becomes meaningful, becomes comprehensible, becomes beautiful.
because i KNOW that the person will be in heaven with God,with Jesus, will be smiling, and will never have to do as the world does, sin as the world sins, never have to bear another ounce of pain, another drop of suffering, and that the person will forever and ever be happy and free. because that is where i want to be,where i really wish to be,but am not.
so what is not beautiful about it?
the family left behind will suffer, will feel empty for awhile. but God works in people, and the church of the deceased will always be at the ready to comfort and ease the family away from their suffering. a slow and long process,
but also a beautiful one, because we learn to lose as we have learned to love.
