a dear dear friend of my church recently passed away.
there's so much death in the air.. ):
she was a cheery newzealander who gave her life to serve God by evangelising in cambodia.
the few times i saw her when she visited singapore..
she was smiling,always smiling.
i'll never forget the sweetness of her face and her smile.
it was truly.. like sunshine.
her old cancer came back,in her lungs.
in the last few weeks of her life..
my church decided to do something for her.
we had a little calender, and every week a different member of the church would send her something..make her a card,or write her a letter,or something like that.
about three weeks before today i sent her a card i made, with a photo of my family.
im glad that i was able to make the last bit of contact with her in her remaining weeks of her life, to bring some sort of spiritual comfort to her.
she replied us,even.
and what makes her so sweet and special is that she remembers everyone she meets.
she remembered us,and even my english-illiterate mom, whom she shared a train ride with many many years ago.
although we are sad and pained by her leaving,we should also thank the Lord for freeing her of her pain and longsuffering.she is now with the Lord, and without any of our worldly hurts and pain.

i guess this is one of the biggest challenges of being a Christian..
how we must be able to be thankful for the passing of our many beloveds..
even when it pains us and kills us to know we'll never feel our beloved's touch again.
but i believe God is there to ease our pain..
so if you are missing your late relatives, family members,or friends..
remember the Lord is with you.
and its all in His great plans.
who knows, maybe one day you'll see them again soon.

to auntie nelly van acker.
thanks for bringing sunshine to our church in singapore.
rest in peace..in the Lord.
